However, Firefox Private Network covers only activity within the Firefox browser—unlike standalone VPN clients, it does not protect other applications or system-wide connections.

Limitations

The extension’s main limitation lies in its integration with Firefox alone. If your web activities occur in other browsers, or you want to extend VPN coverage beyond browsing (such as within apps or other network traffic), Firefox Private Network will not meet those needs.

Additionally, a Mozilla account is required for usage, which might be restrictive for those who prefer not to register or who mainly use alternate browsers.

Performance

Performance is stable, with minimal impact on connection speed during typical browsing. The reliance on Cloudflare ensures fast server connections in most regions. However, intensive tasks such as streaming or accessing geo-restricted content may have mixed results compared to full-featured VPN solutions.
